Day 58 - Last Biking Day - Agios Panteleimon, Greece to Athens, Greece

Our flight back home is out of Athens, and we wanted to have some chill off-bike time. So we had planned to skip into Athens by train after biking in from Albania. Conveniently, the northern route from Korçë set us up pretty close to a train line. Today is our last day of full biking and we decided to start it with a wine tasting!

The campsite is quiet.
Sarah is so happy she got the giantest espresso.
What's our first mission of the day? Leave our bags at the campsite and go wine tasting at 11am.
We biked back to Alpha Estate winery for a free tour and wine tasting. It was only 6 km back adding 12 km round trip but without bags, it was like a bike in the park.
In Greece, we make summer with our hearts!

Our favorite wine might not have actually been from Alpha Estate, but from the winemaker's daughter at Bostani Wines.
The grape they were shilling was Asyertiko. Tasty.
Tasting was free! And we wanted two bottles.

Ok now we must crush. It is noon, we are leaving the campsite, the once-a-day train leaves at 3:40pm, and we still have 41 km to go.

Bombing into Eddesa
We arrive with 20 min to spare so we check out what we here is the local attraction: waterfalls.
There's this one through a tree!
Then, surprise! It turns out the city is on a giant cliff and the waterfall runs down the whole thing!
Back to the train station with 2 min to spare.
Sarah managed to change out of her bike clothes before the 6.5 hour train ride. Bike clothes are not comfortable.
Hellenic Train regional rail let us put our bikes in the wheelchair spot.
And there was a luggage spot by the doors.
Cookies are all you got sometimes.

Very skinny platform full of people going to Athens.
Last train!
Inter City trains let you put your bikes in the luggage car at the end. They opened the door on the side and we hauled them up ourselves. Very chill. We read we were supposed to buy bike tickets, but nobody asked and honestly nobody even checked our real tickets.
But imagine being here for 5 hours. I guess the tracks are being repaired so it was very slow.
