Day 56 - Greek love - Korçë, Albania to Antartiko, Greece
August 11, 2026 - biked 63 km (39 mi) - biked 1941 km (1206 mi) total
Wished we had another day in Korcë because it’s so lovely, but happy to make it to our final country of the trip!

80 cent espresso. It was delicious until half way down the cup I saw a small hair stuck to the side.

Looking for last minute souvenirs.

Korcë is so pretty! I could live here.

Sheep crossing

Eff love?

Produce on the side of the highway! The lady here gave us free plums after we purchased one bunch of grapes, one tomato and five of the best nectarines of my life.

Second espresso break

We can leave our bikes unlocked because it’s so safe in Albania.

We thought we were just getting a banana smoothie but surprised by the peanut butter! That was such a delight we had to get a second one!

Why does every European town have the cutest pedestrian streets?

Greece is over there!

The Greek border control was so amazed by our journey all the way from Espania! Also, motorcyclists have an affinity towards us!

Welcome to Greece!

Our welcome sign.

More hills!

Bike selfie

Pretty hills crushing it!

This road is apparently not used very much due to the extreme sun damage.

You guess it! David’s 6th flat of our trip.

Find that sucker of a thorn!

Ohp! Found it!

I fed him taco spiced tortilla chips, a rare find in this part of the world, to keep him going.

All fixed and now just pump it up!

Orthodox shrines now litter the road.

Downhill begins!

Lego style statue

Stashed our bags to do a quick bike up a hill to see a lake. Classic joy ride.

Lake Prespa- the oldest lake in Europe.

Lake Prespa Agreement was signed here in 2018 that ended the naming dispute between now North Macadonia and Greece which finally paved the way for the former Yugoslavian nation to join NATO and be on the path to join the EU.

Lake Prespa-also so pretty!

Little binoculars to try and see a cross and church on an island/peninsula jutting out into the lake.

Our place for the night!

In the middle of nowhere we sleep here!

Cute place found on booking.com! High season is in winter since it’s close to a ski resort.

Dog just fell asleep like this.

While the cats hunt on the roof!

Got a local beer, but I poured it very badly.

Looking up what it says.

Cooking dinner with our dinner goods while the dog waits. The dog is pretty shabby but doesn’t bark which we appreciated.
