Day 33 - Remote Island - Split, Croatia to Korčula, Croatia

Today we continued to use ferries to help us scoot down Croatia without needing to ride the busy coast road. We took a ferry from Split to Vela Luka and are going to bike the length of that island then ferry back to the mainland. This island, Korčula, is very quiet and has a main road down the spine, but a gravel path all along the north coast that looked extra quiet and scenic, so we took that!

Ferry terminal was busy.
They check your ticket on the boat.
There is an under-dungeon for cars. I never figured out how to get down there.
This ferry has an escalator. Sarah is now running for president.
This ferry has a Duck Shop.
We have made it to the island of Korčula on the boat named Korčula, and at on our way to the town of Korčula. We have landed in Vela Luka, though.

We visited a cave, Vela Spila, where pre-historic human remains were found! They gave us hard hats.
I guess we should go this way even though it is not paved.
Really beautiful coves on the remote side of the island.
We keep seeing unexpected bike infrastructure. Like this is a "bike route" so they leave these repair stands in the middle of nowhere that rust into disfunction.
We are racing to get to the campsite before it closed.
Phew. The host was still there.
Then we had a sunset swim. This was so great.
Toby the cat watches us cook dinner. He got a tuna treat.
