Day 36 - No Banana - Split, Croatia
July 22, 2026 - biked 0 km (0 mi) - biked 1269 km (788 mi) total
We actually eat bananas all the time. And buy single tomatoes to make sandwiches in which we consume so much cheese and bread. On top of all that we fuel ourselves with so many cookies.
But on our rest days we eat out. Split delivered a really great day.

David and I split up for a few hours while I did laundry, drank a macchiato and journaled.

David went to a no-regrets tourist trap that has been around since the early 1900s.

Met up for lunch to eat Jianbing. So good!

Kiwi sweet thing called ‘Magic Snow’ which makes me think of dandruff. But I liked it.

A local famous artist named Stipe Nobilo who spent his entire life just working on one piece essentially.

A hallway or a street?

A stolen sphinx from Egypt just out in the open.

Diocletian's Palace Dioklecijanova palača

Split-where Europe goes to vacation

Where we go to vacation

If you touch Gregory of Nin Statue’s big toe it’s supposed to bring you good luck….

But what if you touch your whole foot?

So many stairs

Food from a cartoon Fife!

David ordered an entire bass.

A rehearsal in public square.

Split is a great city and we wish could stay longer but we have a ferry to catch the next day.
